Michael talks with Dr. Nadine Burke Harris’ about her initiative to make childhood trauma center stage during her tenure as California’s first-ever surgeon general.
Addressing adverse physical and mental repercussions of childhood trauma has been a lifelong passion of Michael’s, and has fueled his becoming 1) a Pediatric Mental Health Nurse for CHOC Children’s, 2) an adoptive father of 5 boys out of foster care and 3) an ambassador for Jockey Being Family.
Michael and his wife Ivey, use their time, talents and resources to nurture, advance, and protect the health and well-being of children.
Dr. Nadine Burke Harris has established early childhood, health equity and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and toxic stress as key priorities.
